A bit about me

I’m Charlie Crick, a British 800m runner from Tonbridge.

My running journey so far:

I’ve been running ever since I was 6 years old, training with Tonbridge Athletic Club in the UK. I have competed at the National level for a decade over 800m, 1500m, and cross country, with the 800m being my specialist event now.

I have experience of training and racing both in the United Kingdom (for Tonbridge AC and Durham University) and the United States (for Clemson University - a Division 1 College in South Carolina).

Most recently, I won gold at the South of England Senior Championship in 2022 and got a silver medal at the England National u23 Championship that same year. In 2023, I made the final of BUCS Outdoor Championships (finishing 6th) and the England National u23 Championships (finishing 8th).

I have also experienced quite a few running injuries, which has given me the opportunity to question which training works for me, and understand that more is not always better. This has greatly contributed to my deep understanding of the sport and myself.

But more than anything, I love watching others succeed in the sport and in life! This is why I want to share my experience with you and work with you on your own journey. Let’s win together.

My training philosophy:

Keep it simple.

1) Focus on consistency. Running is complex, but it doesn’t need to be overcomplicated.

2) Make the process enjoyable! Running is a lot more than running ā€œfastā€. I want to make it as easy as possible to follow the training plan so that you can spend more energy on having fun with it all.

3) Keep learning. No matter what level you’re at, there’s always more to learn about the sport and ourselves.

My personal bests:

400m = 48.66 (2024)

800m = 1.49.04 (2023)

The next chapter of your life starts here.
